Within the Discussion Board area, write 250 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. You are required to use 1 scholarly resource, in addition to your textbook. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas:
Based on your health care innovation selected in your discussion from Unit 3, address the following:
Discuss how you would plan to implement this innovation into your clinical setting.
Select a change theory that you would use to develop this plan.
What method of evaluation would you use for this innovation implementation?
I will send you Discussion Board #3, so you can write this assignment. Please use the APA template I uploaded and my book citation under references that I uploaded. I am an operating room RN

Implementation Plan
Healthcare organizations can utilize healthcare innovations to facilitate remote monitoring of surgical patients post discharge. For example, innovations such as telehealth can help healthcare professionals to conduct follow-ups to understand how surgical patients are responding to prescribed medications post discharge (Endsley, 2010). Operating room registered nurses play a key role in helping their organizations successfully implement such innovations (Haimi & Gesser-Edelsburg, 2022). The clinical setting needs to implement telehealth, a customer-based type of innovation, to improve healthcare delivery for patients who require remote monitoring. The successful implementation of this innovation requires careful planning and appropriate selection of a change theory and evaluation methods.
The plan to implement telehealth in the clinical setting will include a clear description of the target population, the planned intervention (telehealth), the comparison element (current practice/absence of telehealth), the expected outcomes and how they will be measured, and the time limit that the program will take. Additionally, the plan will describe the methods to collect data, analyze data, and evaluate outcomes. Most importantly, the plan will include clear steps that will be executed to complete program activities from start to completion.
A change theory helps teams involved in program implementation to design processes in a manner that facilitates the realization of the desired outcomes. The change theory that will be used to develop the named plan is Dr. John Kotter’s 8-step model of change. Dr. Kotter assumes that change leaders should follow 8 steps in order to successfully implement change. The steps in a chronological manner include creating a sense of urgency, building a guiding coalition, forming a strategic vision and initiatives, enlisting a volunteer army, enabling action by removing barriers, generating short-term wins, sustaining acceleration, and instituting the change (Kupferschmid & Tripathi, 2021). Both formative and summative evaluation methods will be used for the innovation implementation (Kaczmarek & Romaniuk, 2020). Formative evaluation will allow assessment at every stage of the program and summative evaluation will facilitate the assessment of the gross impacts of the program after its successful implementation.
